Caplin The Famous

As spring break draws to a close, I hope you have enjoyed the week (Well, sorta two) of Caplin Rous, the Internet's most lovable capybara. Caplin Rous will be on Animal Planet, April 11th 10:00 pm ET. I have friends from out of town visiting just so we can watch this historic event. We'll return next week with more wonderful capybara photos, but this is not the last you'll see of Caplin -- I'm sure there will be more adorable photos of him in the future!

Caplin, semi-aquatic

Capybara are wonderful, just like the hippo and the duck. They are semi-aquatic, and spend a great deal of their time in water. Here Caplin plays in the pool. Isn't he adorable? Surprising fact: originally, Caplin's person thought Caplin was a she!

Midterm exam in Electrodynamics and MRI and out-of-town guests resulted in the Week of Caplin being put on hold by accident! We return this week with more adorable photos of everyone's favorite capybara, Caplin Rous. We love you Caplin!

Caplin, video star

Caplin is a very famous Bara. He is so famous he has his own youtube channel! Caplin employs his person to help edit the videos -- the production quality is very high, and they are always enjoyable. I have watched every one!

Caplin goes on a trip!

Today we continue our lovely week-of-Caplin. Here he is in the car. I do not think he can drive, but rather has his person drive him. Caplin is a very internet-savvy 'bara, and has his own myspace page! Internet-enabled capybaras... what will they think of next?

Why so sad?

Why so sad, lovely capybara? Perhaps you miss your fiancee because she lives in another country? Or perhaps you are sad because you have two problem sets to do tonight and some data to analyze for your advisor and it all has to be done by the morning? either way, I feel your pain!

Bill O'Reilly Courtship

(inspired by my post about my fiancee)

From the September 14 broadcast of Westwood One's The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly:

O'REILLY: The secular progressive movement would like to have marriage abolished, in my opinion. They don't want it, because it is not diverse enough. You know, that's what this gay marriage thing is all about. But now, you know, the poly-amorphous marriage, whatever they call it, you can marry 18 people, you can marry a duck, I mean --

LIS WIEHL (co-host): A duck? Quack, quack.

O'REILLY: Well, why, you know, if you're in love with the duck, who is the society to tell you you can't do that?

A very special 'bara

This is a photo taken by my fiancee of the capybaras at High Park Zoo in Toronto, for a wonderful weekend visit. She lives in Toronto (and has for nearly three years!) and I still live in Boston. We get to see one another very rarely, but when we do we share our love of capybaras. This is the only capybara I have ever seen in person!
